Welcome to A.S. Matheson Elementary!
I would like to acknowledge that A.S. Matheson Elementary is situated on the unceded, ancestral, and traditional territory of the Syilx (Okanagan) People.
Our dedicated and passionate staff diligently works daily to create an inclusive and caring environment for every student. We collaborate closely with families and the community to ensure that we support our children's development together.
Our Parent Advisory Council (PAC) is essential to our learning community. They meet monthly to organize special events and fundraisers. These efforts provide numerous activities and resources for the school, allowing us to offer various programs beyond our Redesigned Curriculum. Additionally, we have volunteers who generously contribute their time and energy to support student learning through classroom activities such as one-on-one reading or small group assistance.
As previously mentioned, A.S. Matheson is dedicated to developing the whole child. We offer Early Learning programs like StrongStart, which supports preschool students and their families. After-school programs are also integrated into our school culture, including Indigenous Clubs and a partnership with the Okanagan Boys and Girls Club, which provides care after school.
