Parent Advisory Council

​The Role of the Parent Advisory Council   The Parent Advisory Council helps our children meet the challenges of change and learning through strong parent/guardian and community involvement. The PAC is also your voice in the school system. We hope our PAC will strengthen your family's positive connections with our school. When parents and educators assume responsibility to support their child's learning, everyone benefits--especially the learner! What the PAC does: •provides assistance with curricular and extra-curricular activities •conducts parent education evenings (guest speakers) •hosts a Teacher Appreciation Luncheon •helps plan school events such as Family Movie Nights, the Learning Gardens, Family Fun Night and Grade 6 Celebrations •assists with funding field trips •helps with Bottle Recycling in the school •purchases play equipment for the classrooms and for lunch hour •helps with the year end celebrations •cares about all our children.   Members of the Parent Advisory Council All parents or legal guardians of students registered at A. S. Matheson Elementary School are voting members of the PAC. An elected executive provides overall guidance and direction. Meetings PAC meetings are held on the third Monday of every month at 6:00 pm in the library. Please join us and become more involved in your children’s school experience.
