Norval Morrisseau (1932-2007)-Canadian Aboriginal artist with a unique style of painting. See examples and a biography at the Coglan Art Gallery . An image search on Google (type "norval morrisseau") will show more examples of his work.

Bill Reid (1920-1998)-Haida artist and author. Mr. Reid created sculpture (in stone, wood, and metals) and jewelry (in gold and silver). He was also a painter and printmaker. His most famous piece is "The Spirit of Haida Gwaii" at the Canadian Embassy in Washington, DC. For more photos, see the Bill Reid Foundation web site (click on Collection), or Google his name.
Lee Claremont is a local artist also of aboriginal heritage. Her work is bright and colourful, whether on canvas, paper, or wall murals.  Norval Morrisseau was one of her "heroes".
