The Role of the Parent Advisory Council

The Parent Advisory Council helps our children meet the challenges of change and learning through strong parent/guardian and community involvement. The PAC is also your voice in the school system. We hope our PAC will strengthen your family's positive connections with our school. When parents and educators assume responsibility to support their child's learning, everyone benefits--especially the learner!

What the PAC does:
•provides assistance with curricular and extra-curricular activities
•conducts parent education evenings (guest speakers)
provides a Bursary for KSS students who are continuing their education and have attended A. S. M. Elementary
•hosts a Teacher Appreciation Luncheon
•helps plan school events such as Family Movie nights, the Primary Shopping Zone, the Learning Garden, the Christmas dance, Family Fun Night and graduation ceremonies
•assists with funding field trips
•helps with Bottle Recycling in the school
•purchases the Agendas for Grades 1 to 6. These Agendas help parents keep abreast of day to day happenings in the classroom and school
•purchases play equipment for the classrooms and for lunch hour
•helps with Primary Play Day
•cares about all our children.
